Everything But Paper (two sessions of 3 hours) (Sep 24 & 25)

In this 6-hour workshop, aimed at people with experience in Calligraphy with a flexible nib, the student will learn to apply calligraphy on a wide variety of surfaces in addition to paper.

Students will explore materials such as wood, shells, stones, leaves, cloth, etc. We will learn how to use different tools that will work best for each texture. We'll go over different techniques for preparing and preserving materials, tips for fixing mistakes, and we'll see how to work in both small and large formats.
