In this introductory workshop for pointed pen calligraphy students will learn the essential concepts of calligraphy and build a solid base to write with an oblique dip pen and a flexible nib. They will acquire an understanding of the main tools and proper techniques. Traditional copperplate lowercase alphabet will be covered in depth and an introduction to the uppercase will be also covered in this 4 hrs. workshop. After taking this workshop, students will be able to practice on their own with the kit provided to take home.
This is a really fun, no-pressure workshop for anyone interested in learning a new skill, picking up a fun hobby, artist looking to try a new technique/medium, or just something fun to do with friends. Suitable for beginners, those who have never picked up a calligraphy pen before, or if it's been a while and you want to brush up on your skills and learn the proper techniques.
